After two years of pandemic delays, Cesar Galindo returned to New York Fashion Week with Newcomer, couture designer, Phuc Tran Collection. The night was filled with exciting full-frontal fashion at the new eatery Cucina 81/2 NYC. These two powerful presentations had energy and lots of amazing moments amidst the wild, glitzy chaos. Special guests at the front row included Brian McKnight, Constance White, Vogue Magazine, and paparazzi clicking away.

Phuc Tran debuted his first-ever runway show, with fitted, feminine silhouettes, dresses in silk, asymmetrical knits, and fitted structured jackets and bottoms. Phuc Tran showcased an array of couture bombastic selections that were crowd-pleasers.

Show-goers whooped and cheered as they watched their friends slink down the catwalk (Richie Shazam was among the show’s hyper-cool cast). People reacted to the runway in real-time, a testament to Lopez’s ability to spur emotion with fashion.

The affair wasn’t just about clothing — it also captured the spirit of New York fashion; a scene that bridges high and low, art and streetwear, luxury and grittiness.

The Cesar Galindo Collection was at its core, a celebration of the designer’s return to NYFW and a celebration of the Future in Fashion, #Sustainability. His Collection, Futurism, captured the spirit of New York fashion, paid homage to what’s next, setting the stage for its continued evolution. Cesar Galindo Collection gave an energetic salute to the city and to what makes him such a unique designer. His collection brings alive music, nightlife, and cool concepts.

Cesar Galindo

Cesar Galindo founded his fashion brand 20 years ago, his career spans designing for brands like Calvin Klein Women’s Collection, Dolce & Gabbana, LAMB, Kimora Lee Simmons, and the new Baby Phat — He began his career designing corsets and period costumes for The Miami City Ballet, then for The Houston Grand Opera. Cesar is a self-taught Latin American-born designer. As a first-generation Mexican who’s also the youngest of 11 children, he grew up in a heavily Latin-influenced home. As a child, he loved art and creating. He was involved in dancing, theater (drama), painting, and drawing. His mother taught him how to sew and with that fervor for creation, Galindo decided to set his heart and mind on designing. This, coupled with his Latin background, became the catalyst for his soon-to-be designs. This Collection “Futurism” features Cesar’s vision of the future in colors, fabrics, and style. Experience the future as he presents this collection.

In 2021, he began his own fashion line called the Phuc Tran, a realization of a lifetime dream. Phuc Tran has launched the first Spring/Summer 2022 Collection on November 30th, 2021 on www.phuctran.net .

On his collection, Phuc Tran Says:
“In the fashion world, the first fashion show debut can either make you or break you. Phuc Tran will either be well known for my designs or fade away into oblivion. On my journey to success, there have been many failures and criticisms which I have embraced to motivate me to do better. To be successful, you must accept setbacks, work hard and be persistent. You cannot let doubts and rejections stop you from achieving your goal. The biggest factor for success to me is risk. Without huge risks, there will be no reward. My biggest risk is to venture out on my own, especially with this Fall/Winter 2022 fashion show. This will either let the fashion world know who Phuc Tran is or go back on the cutting board.  Humans are made with beautiful bodies, especially women. I love to create fashion pieces to enhance their beauty. Phuc Tran Collections are handmade by my professional team with great emphasis on details.  What sets my line apart from other designers is that I’m both the designer and pattern maker so I can bring to life the beautiful fashion pieces that I designed. Other designers hire patternmakers to try to bring out their designs, but it could never be 100% what the designer envisioned.  Introducing Phuc Tran Collection AW22.”
