3 Places to Get Your Read on for Free!

Spring and Summer will bring outside time for us all. Whether it be in our backyards or at the park, bringing a book or reader with you is a surefire way to help you relax. Como sea o cuando sea que you feel like you want to sit back and get lost in a good read, remember that you don’t have to spend a lot. You can also help the earth by buying electronic page-turners and forego the physical book.

If you’re an Amazon Prime member, (and who isn’t at this point really?) you get one free book per month as a Kindle read. Yes, lo leiste bien, you can choose from some amazing titles and get your read on. You will likely get an email reminder that it’s time to choose your book for the month or you can also go to your Kindle app and scroll down to “First Reads”. These are the editors’ picks for those who have Prime. If there isn’t a book you want to read that is free, you can also choose a different Kindle book from the ‘New & Notable in Prime Reading’ section starting at $1.99.  Que ganga!

Not interested in reading your way to a fantasy world? Have your book read to you while you close your eyes and shut out the world without paying a dime. Google Play has free books you can read or listen to right from your phone or tablet. Simply type “Books on Google Play” into your search bar and be taken to the Google Play store. Once you’re there, type “Free” in the search books bar and be taken to a list of books to choose from. Toggle from “Ebooks” to “Audiobooks” depending on your mood and then sit back and relax on your balcony.

Got yourself a Nook? Me too! I’ve had mine forever y no lo cambio aunque. I have the App on my phone too because sometimes you just want to read on a larger screen. I love that since times have changed and more options have been introduced, you can also get your libros gratis por ahí tambien!  Just tap the ‘n’ button, go to ‘shop’ and ‘search’. De ahí, type 0.00 in the search bar y encontraras a list of free Nook books!

I love to have options, so having these apps on my phone or tablet is so convenient. I must say that highlighting something electronically isn’t the same as physically highlighting but hey, you’ve got to roll with the times. It’s also a little safer to have a real book with you as you soak in a tub than to have an electronic one. Just sayin’. So now that you have some easy ways to commit to some self-care, find a cozy place, grab your Cafecito or wine (no judgment) and get your read on.
