The Comfort Cub – A Mother’s Day Gift for Healing

This Mother’s Day, there’s help for moms that are hurting across the U.S. due to a loss.

Our loving friends at Comfort Cub are back to fill empty arms with weighted therapeutic teddy bears, supporting whoever holds it in their arms. They provide a sense of comfort, peace, and love to heavy hearts.

The non-profit is teaming up with MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) for a heartwarming event ahead of Mother’s Day. 

Moms Helping Moms for Mother’s Day Event:

The purpose of the event is to send The Comfort Cubs as a gift to moms throughout the U.S. who are broken-hearted after losing a child at any age or experiencing a “Motherless Mother’s Day.” This special one-day Mother’s Day prep event will create an assembly line tagging and preparing the cubs to be shipped across the country to moms grieving a loss.

Additionally, May is Mental Health Awareness Month and the Comfort Cub is about being supportive of that pain and struggle. Its deep touch pressure provides weighted therapy that can truly help relieve the heartache associated with mental health and emotional trauma. The group encourages people to give a bear to help a loved one in need.

The Comfort Cub was started to support moms who have lost their newborns. The founder’s mission is never to let a mother leave the hospital empty-handed as she did 23 years ago when her infant son, George, died the same day he was born. Now moms everywhere receive a weighted therapy bear, The Comfort Cub, to provide that deep touch pressure healing to help prevent and heal the scientifically proven Broken Heart Syndrome called Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy.

MOPS believes in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together. They began in 1973 when moms with young children banded together to share their lives and parenting journeys. Over the past 48 years, MOPS has expanded its community to include moms with school-aged kids. In addition, they partner with churches and organizations worldwide to equip and encourage moms in more than 70 countries.

Together, these two groups are doing beautiful things and spreading kindness and healing at every turn.

The mission of The Comfort Cub is to bring comfort to anyone experiencing a broken heart as a result of a significant loss or trauma.
