NYFW: Pop Up Designer Series: Noir Blanc Collection, by Maison de Urbana
New York, NY, February 13th, ..It’s true, the colors black and white are distinctive, in other words: when in doubt, wear black and white. The NYFW designer popup ended with sophistication and timeless style with the Maison de Urbana Collection.
The collection offered boutique fashion with remarkable individuality in an honest, simple palette of black and white, in feminine silhouettes.
About the Collection:
Maison de Urbana – Black and White Collection- White often represents innocence, purity and new beginnings. Black on the other hand can be seen as conservative or intimidating but it is often associated with sophistication, luxury, confidence and strength.
About The Designer
Urbana decided to start Maison de Mini, an eco-friendly children’s fashion line. Maison de Mini, which is created from bamboo, soy, and hemp, is a colorful activewear line that can be paired with your favorite children’s brands to create a unique individual style. All of Urbana’s prints are custom drawn by herself and the help of her children. Urbana is an advocate for childhood cancer awareness and gives back to many children causes including teaming up with pediatric heart surgeon Dr. Novick where Urbana donates her children’s line to the patients getting out of surgery. All of the extra fabric from the collection will be made into children’s socks, underwear, shorts and shirts. As well as being donated to various homeless shelters or orphanages. Also a percentage of the profits from the collection will go to a charity that Urbana is in the works of creating, aimed at keeping our kids clothed. Her dream is to have a positive impact on the lives of less fortunate children around the world through fashion. Through Maison de Mini, she is well on her way to seeing that dream come to fruition.
Urbana is bicoastal from NYC to LA. Urbana loves to sing, dance, cook, organize and be with her family. She hopes to be a strong voice for women today in uniting instead of fighting against one another. She hopes to help women love themselves through their scars , traumas and past experiences and do it all through beauty and fashion.
